Gynaecological surgery involves any part of a woman's reproductive system, including the vagina, cervix, fallopian tubes and ovaries. Gynaecologists often perform operations on the woman's urinary tract, including the bladder. Apart from the therapeutic gynaecological surgery, there is also the one that is addressed to women who require surgical intervention during childbirth.
The department offers the possibility of Da Vinci surgery, one of the most well-known robotically assisted surgical practices recommended in various diseases of the gynaecological spectrum. The installation took place in May 2020 and is a pioneering move aiming at the optimal therapeutic approach of benign and malignant gynaecological diseases.
Our Hospital was one of the first hospitals which performed diagnostic Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy. Today these surgical procedures constitute the vast majority of the department's surgeries. More than 400 Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy operations are performed in our Hospital annually.
